What is BETTER BÅLLS?
BETTER BÅLLS is a world of objects, clothing, writing, truth and restoration, born between America and Europe and now rooted in Europe by choice.
Its founders have spent their lives searching for meaning, beauty, truth, and real community. They learned the status quo from inside it, saw what it rewards, saw what it destroys, and chose to challenge it.
BETTER BÅLLS is a refusal of fake luxury, mass fashion, extraction, and empty status.
We make things to be worn, warmed, carried, touched, gifted, lived with, and remembered.
We believe luxury should return to life.
-
The name appeared to us before we fully understood it.
It resonated deeply, so we followed it. Over time, the world of BETTER BÅLLS began to shape itself around the name: roundness, courage, humour, fertility, beauty, protection, play, and life force.
We love spherical forms: pure symmetry, movement, softness, wholeness, and freedom. A ball can roll, turn, orbit, bounce, gather, protect, and begin again.
We do not worship the cube. Squares and boxes can become symbols of control, rigidity, flattening, and obedience.
The name also became a kind of gate. Some people only see the obvious. Some people only see discomfort, vulgarity, or risk. Others recognize the deeper meaning immediately.
That is part of the point.
BETTER BÅLLS is not sterile luxury. It is alive, rounded, flowing, sensual, and free.

A logo is not just a graphic.
The word reaches back toward the ancient Greek logos: word, reason, meaning, principle, and inner order made visible.
The BETTER BÅLLS logo comes from a bronze statue the founders found by chance.
It had been rejected, forgotten, and left without value — but it was perfect in its own strange glory. We bought it because we felt something before we understood it.
The figure depicts Mars: the ancient force of war, courage, fire, protection, and action.
Mars is often misunderstood as destruction only. But that same energy can also defend life, protect beauty, guard the vulnerable, and stand against destruction.
For us, Mars is not here to conquer.
He is here to protect.
That is why he became our symbol: a rejected figure restored to meaning, standing at the threshold of BETTER BÅLLS.

Real Luxury is not just price, status, country names, logos, or performance.
We reject the lazy luxury myth: the idea that beauty, quality, or refinement can be proven by a familiar prestige label, an approved city, or an inherited fashion story.
To us, Real Luxury means warmth, material honesty, beauty, usefulness, sensuality, memory, and care.
It means objects that belong in life, not objects that exist only to impress strangers.
Real Luxury does not need to be cold. It does not need to be wasteful. It does not need to pretend.
-
Because the word “luxury” carries a tension worth facing.
As far as we can trace it, luxury reaches back through Latin roots associated with abundance, excess, richness, indulgence, and growth beyond ordinary measure.
That tension matters.
Luxury can become beauty, pleasure, refinement, quality, care, and life made more vivid.
It can also become waste, domination, blindness, inflated status, and distance from real life.
If we only see the dark side, we lose sight of what the word still protects.
We do not use luxury as an excuse for extraction.
We use it because beauty, quality, sensuality, privacy, warmth, protection, and care still matter.
For us, Real Luxury is not the denial of this tension.
It is the decision to bring luxury back toward life.
-
Our objects are made with different specialist partners depending on material, technique, and category.
We do not believe luxury belongs to one country, one label, or one inherited fashion mythology. Beautiful work can come from many places. Poor work can also come from famous places.
For us, the more important question is: who made it, how did they make it, what do they value, and does the object carry care and love?
We work with natural fibres, strong textiles, embroidery, leather, and small-batch production. We care about skill, honesty, material understanding, and the spirit of the people involved.
We are not interested in using country names as status props. We are interested in objects that carry warmth, identity, and use.
-
Because real materials, skilled production, small batches, taxes, packaging, shipping, and careful work all cost money.
We do not pretend beautiful objects can be made honestly for nothing. At the same time, we do not inflate prices only for status.
Cheapness usually hides something: underpaid labour, poor materials, waste, shortcuts, or extraction somewhere else in the chain.
The founders know the logic of extraction from the inside. They have seen how systems are built to maximize margin, hide cost, flatten people, and turn everything into a lever for profit.
BETTER BÅLLS exists in opposition to that.
We are not here to extract the largest possible profit. That is not our belief system. When there is profit, it is meant to sustain the world, support the work, and be reinvested into the deeper mission.
Our aim is honest value: objects made with care, priced with clarity, and offered without pretending the real costs do not exist.
-
You can support BETTER BÅLLS by buying an object, sharing the work, joining the letters, visiting when invited, or simply telling the right people that we exist.
We are building outside the usual systems of extractive media, status-driven luxury, and growth-at-all-costs business. That means support from real people matters.
Every order, message, introduction, photograph, conversation, review, and act of belief helps the world grow without becoming what it opposes.
If the work resonates with you, stay close. Wear it. Use it. Gift it. Speak of it. Bring good people toward it.
BETTER BÅLLS grows through alignment, not noise.
-
Often, yes.
Some objects are available now from existing small batches. Some are first editions. Some are archive or showroom pieces. Future objects may open as pre-order batches.
We do not believe in flooding the world with unwanted stock and then pretending waste is luxury.
Scarcity is not a trick here. It is a consequence of working with real materials, real makers, real limits, and real demand.
-
“Available now” means the object is physically in stock and can be ordered online.
It exists. It is ready. It can be sent from the Netherlands after your order is processed.
These are the clearest objects in the shop: not a promise, not a campaign, not a fantasy of future production. They are here.
-
“First Edition / Sold Out” means the first version of the object has closed and is not currently available to order online.
Sometimes the batch is gone. Sometimes the object proved a direction, a material, a shape, or a feeling, and the next version is being refined before it returns.
We do not treat product development as something to hide. Better objects are made through attention, correction, and care.
We would rather pause than pretend.
-
Some objects are not offered through ordinary online checkout.
They may be rare, dramatic, difficult to size, fragile, ceremonial, or better understood in person. This can include pieces such as slippers, cloaks, and other objects that need more care, context, or alignment than a normal product page can provide.
Select individuals may receive a showroom invitation when there is a strong alignment with the values, mission, and spirit of BETTER BÅLLS.
This is not about exclusion for status. It is about protecting the object, the world, and the deeper meaning around the work.
-
Sometimes.
Pre-ordering allows us to make according to real demand instead of guessing, overproducing, and pretending waste is luxury.
Some objects need time, commitment, and enough people aligned around a batch before they can be made properly. A pre-order helps bring that object into being.
This is not fast fashion. It is not instant gratification. It is a more responsible way to make beautiful things: less noise, less waste, more intention.
When a pre-order is open, the product page will explain the expected timing, details, and conditions clearly before you order.
-
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination and parcel weight. Hats are sent in protective boxes so they keep their shape. Larger pieces are packed with care for safe travel.
We charge shipping separately because distance, weight, handling, and carrier costs are real. A nearby parcel and a heavy international parcel should not be treated as the same thing.
For us, this is a matter of fairness, transparency, and responsibility. We prefer to show shipping clearly rather than hide it inside inflated product prices.
For orders shipped beyond the EU customs area, import duties, taxes, customs fees, or carrier handling fees may be charged by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.
If your country is not available at checkout, or if you are unsure before ordering, you may write to us at concierge@betterballs.world.
-
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to tell us that you wish to return your order.
Returns are possible, but the object must come back in a condition that is fair to the next person, fair to us, and fair to the object itself.
Items must be returned unused, unworn, clean, undamaged, and suitable for resale. Return shipping for standard returns is the responsibility of the customer.
For hygiene reasons, underwear and intimate garments can only be returned if the hygiene seal is unbroken.
-
We accept returns, but we ask that buying be considered.
Every unnecessary return creates extra shipping, packaging, handling, and waste. We do not want to encourage careless ordering or a buy-and-send-back habit.
If you are unsure about size, fit, material, colour, or whether an object is right for you, please write to us before ordering. We are happy to help you choose carefully.
A return should be a correction, not a habit.
-
Yes. Prices include taxes where applicable.
For consumer orders within the EU customs area, VAT is included in the product price. We prefer clear pricing and would rather show the tax burden plainly, but consumer pricing rules require VAT-inclusive prices.
Taxes are not the romantic part of making beautiful objects. They increase the real cost for everyone: the maker, the seller, and the customer. We do not hide that reality.
For orders shipped beyond the EU customs area, local import duties, taxes, customs fees, or carrier handling fees may be charged by the destination country. These charges are outside our control and are the responsibility of the customer.
